Farnham sweet Farnham.
I’m in Farnham, Surrey, UK. One would normal believe that “Farnham nightlife” is an oxymoron given that it’s in the middle of nowhere, it’s 400 years old, and well, it doesn’t have air conditioning. Two guys, one a comedian, the other an international peace keeper, dragged me to a bar where the comedian fended off metro-sexuals all night and the peacekeeper and me spoke about how the 92% male and 8% male population of the bar looked 100% male. I stayed at the “hotel from hell” (no air conditioning or Wi-Fi) where at first I was worried over whether they would have running water. Behind this jewel of a hotel was something unexpected: the Garden of Eden…where Gareth and I interviewed SE candidates. It was shockingly odd for all concerned. A quick inspection of Farnham revealed that air conditioning is MIA everywhere. Isn’t that 1950’s technology?
